The works to be performed by the selected composers may be written for a combination of the following ensemble: Soprano, Flute (piccolo), Clarinet (bass clarinet), Accordion, Piano, Violin, and Violoncello. In the application form each candidate will express 3 possible preferences , up to 6 performers for the instrumentation of their piece. Eventually, a commission of judges will assign each of the selected composer candidates with an instrumental formation that will try to accommodate the composer’s preferences.
Composit welcomes and encourages daring works that include extended techniques and live electronics. Please contact us for details concerning the availability of desired electronic equipment.
Submission requirements: application form, cover letter, resume, 2 representative works (scores and recording on audio CD), and up to 2 recommendation letters (if available). APPLICATION fee $40.
The postmark deadline for applications is Feb 10th, 2013.
Accepted composers will be notified via email by the end of February 2013.
The score and parts for the work to be performed at the festival must be received by June 2, 2013.
The cost of attending Composit is 1550 Euros which includes tuition and room and board (room + breakfast and dinner)
Applicants must be over 18 years of age and may be of any nationality.
